1934 R.A.F South African Cruise, log sheets of the flight from Heliopolis to Pretoria and the return flight piloted by Sqn. Leader Saunders, the 30 pages detailing the flight via Assiut, Wadi Halfa, Atbara, Khartoum, Kosti, Malakal, Juba, Kisumu, Nairobi, Moshi, Dodoma, Iringa, Mbeya, Mpika, Broken Hill, Salisbury, Bulawayo, Pietersburg to Pretoria and the return flight, with full details of times and places seen, also three pages giving local times and the times for sunrise and sunset on the route, and a note handed to Saunders during the flight, "Here is the railway, we had better follow it to Balatras L.G". A unique original document of this important flight, with a full transcription. £300-400

1925 Lemaitre and Arrachard, Paris to Dakar and Return Flight. Cover from Etampes (Feb 3) to Dakar franked 25c and bearing the flight vignette tied by oval cachet with Dakar arrival backstamp (Feb 5), and return flight cover from Dakar (Feb 7) to Versaille franked 25c, two flight cachets and backstamps of Le-Golea, Casablanca and Versaille (Mar 24). Also an unused flight vignette and similar imperf vignette produced in 1945 for the 20th anniversary of the flight. 300 Covers carried on the outward flight and 200 covers on the return flight, which set a new distance record of 17,000km in 85 hours flying time. 1925 Thieffry, Roger and Bruyaker, Brussels to Leopoldville Flight in the "Princess Marie Rose". March 5th Cover flown from Zinder to Fort-Lamy franked Niger 25c, arrival c.d.s (Mar 5). Four letters were carried over the entire flight and a few letters on this stage from Niger to Chad; the whole flight took 51 days due to several forced landings enroute, the actual flying time being just 75 1/2 hrs. Cover with France 10c, 40c and 1f tied by Bourget-Aviation c.d.s (Sep 27) and Egypt 5m cancelled at Kom Ombo (Sep 28), arrival c.d.s of Chaville (Oct 2). Costes and de Vitrolles were attempting a world record non-stop flight but engine failure forced them to land 25hrs later at Kom Ombo, a distance of 4,050km. Just eight covers carried on this flight. Picture postcard flown to Fort-Lamy in Chad franked on the picture side by Belgium 1F air stamp tied by Brussels c.d.s (Oct 1), the reverse with Chad 1F50 tied by Fort-Lamy c.d.s (Oct 8), and a Belgium 1c tied by a Brussels c.d.s. (Dec 1) upon receipt in Belgium, signed by de Looz-Corswarem. The address neatly erased but scarce, about 40 covers and cards flown in this record breaking flight of 3 1/2days, then returned to Belgium by surface mail. £80-100

Covers to or from Djibouti, comprising Nov 14th cover to Rome carried on the first Ala Littoria flight from Djibouti to Khartoum and then transferred to Imperial Airways (ten covers flown); Nov 26th cover from Sirt, Tripolitania, to Djibouti (ten covers flown); Dec. 3rd cover from Khartoum to Djibouti flown via Asmara (ten covers flown); and Dec. 11th postcard from Paris to Djibouti with a 30c postage due applied upon arrival, an unusual French acceptance for the service extended from Asmara to Mogadiscio via Djibouti.
