  Literature/Prints/Postcards. 1833 Book "Vectis Scenery, being a series of original and select views exhibiting the picturesque beauties and places of particular interest in The Isle of Wight, drawn from nature and engraved by George Brannon", printed and published by the engraver at Wootton Common, containing 30 prints and 54 pages of text; two other c.1870 books of coloured or black and white prints of the Isle of Wight; other guidebooks (9); and "Postal History of the Isle of Wight" by J.   1589 Bill of Lading written in Italian by Pietro Danielle of Monaco on behalf of Lorenzo Corsini in Civitavecchia concerning a cargo of alum sent on "The Elizabeth", Capt. Richard Arel, for the Isle of Wight from where a man was to be sent express to Filippo Corsini in London to receive orders on where the alum was to be sent. Certified by a notary and endorsed in English "By me, Raphe Siddall, purser, by commission of Joseph Symondely, for twenty three tons and four quintals of alum, as they say", wafer seal and unusual merchants mark in the margin. An early document relating to the Isle of Wight. £120-150

  Carisbrooke. 1628 (Aug 25) Entire letter written and signed by George Kirk from Carisbrooke, signifying King Charles I pleasure at the payment of a pension, addressed "To his verie loving freind Davide Coningame", George Kirk was Gentleman of the Robes to Charles I, and later Groom of the Bedchamber and Keeper of Whitehall Palace under Charles II. Also a 1784 print of Carisbrooke Castle (where Charles I was imprisoned in 1647), and 1859 cover with "CARISBROOK" undated circle applied upon arrival on reverse. The 1628 entire letter with soiling to address panel and splitting at folds (repaired internally with tape) but a rare early letter. (3). £150-180
