  Internee in Eritrea. 1946 Cover to Kefar Sava, from a Jewish internee in Sambel Camp in Eritrea, carried by army bag back to the C.I.D, Palestine Police in Jerusalem and then posted franked 10m, the reverse with violet boxed "PASSED BY CENSOR". 251 Jews arrested during the fight for an independent state of Israel, mainly hard-core activists including members of Irgun, were sent to Sambel Camp in October 1944 where they remained for three months; they were again imprisoned at Sambel from October 1945 until March 1947 when they were transferred to Gilgil in Kenya. An interesting and scarce cover. £100-120
