1929 (June 5) Registered cover to India franked 7pi, to include an extra 3pi fee for the overland desert mail service, bearing "Service Transdesertique / Syro-Iraquien Damas-Bagdad" label, the stamps and label all tied by oval Limassol Registered datestamps. Mail for this route had to bear this label and be franked an additional 3pi per ounce from June 1929 until October 1930, when the extra fee was abolished; very little mail was sent due to this high extra charge.
