  1874 1d Lettersheet, the stamp dated "18 6 74", published by Pettitt & Co. of Soho and headed "The Farthing Patent Advertising Lettersheet", containing 42 adverts for companies in London. Adverts include The London International Exhibition, meat extract, The Royal Polytechnic, pens, tea, sherry, The Crystal Palace Bazaar, Royal Exeter Hotel, safes, hair restorer, umbrellas, freezing machines, watches, monograms, a piano school, galvanised chain bands, song sheets, pills, whisky, cutlery, safes, lino, books, pianos, chocolate, painless dentistry with laughing gas, The Daily News, an Eastbourne boarding house, Crystal Palace Royal Hotel, Balmoral Hotel, ship passage to South Africa, sewing machines, etc. Fine and scarce. Also another 1899 1d lettersheet (undated stamp) published by the London branch of the Anglo-Colonial Letter Co. Ltd. containing 18 adverts for London companies, a piece unfortunately torn from the lower left corner of the address panel also affecting one internal advert, otherwise largely fine. (2). £250-300

  c.1877 1d Lettersheet no. 2 issued by The Advertising Stamped Envelope Company, the 1d stamp dated "1 11 77", containing 32 commercial adverts and an advert for the lettersheet publishers. Most adverts are for Birmingham companies and include medicines, couches, cutlery, a veterinary surgeon, engines, cables and anchors, mangles, bedsheets, sulphur water, stove grates, wire, etc., a few adverts for London companies included. Ltd. of London, containing 27 adverts for Dublin companies including soda water, the Gaiety hair salon, the new Vienna portrait, the Torpedo Washer, hair colour restorer, wedding rings, musical instruments, men's hosiery, shirts, hats, baby carriages, tea and Irish whisky, sponges, iron roofing, picture frames, etc. A few light tone spots, otherwise fine unused, a scarce Irish advertising lettersheet. £300-350

  1893 ½d Lettersheet with printed address of W.H Smith & Son, Blackfriars Street, Manchester, published by The International Envelope Co. of London, containing 13 various adverts including The Morning newspaper, a Rye jewellers, a Blackburn organ works, the Manchester agent for Dutch yeast and spirits, Scottish Tweed from Hawick, a supplier of vocalists and bands, electric lighting, anti-pain medicine, bloaters from Great Yarmouth, etc, fine unused. A very scarce ½d advertising lettersheet, with a patent number and the date "10/93" on the flap. £250-300

Censored with an Opened by Examiner seal and two wax seals (one over part of the 5/- stamp) each impressed "WAR OFFICE / POSTAL CENSOR", the London E.C registration label with "E.C" crossed out and replaced by handstruck "PC", presumably by the War Office censor.
