Spilsby applied an additional Maltese Cross to covers between September 1840 and April 1842, 37 such covers being recorded by Rockoff and Jackson in "The Maltese Cross"; just two of these bore two additional Maltese Crosses and just one bore a 1840 2d blue. Also a single 1d red with a fine part strike of the same roller, and a piece with QEII 2½d tied by a proof impression of the "75" in diamond roller.
