British War & Victory Medals named to Capt M W Emley. Defence Medal unnamed as issued. 1935 Jubilee & 1937 Coronation Medals, unnamed as issued. Territorial Decoration GV (1920), the eight mounted for wear.Maurice Woodman Emley was commissioned as a 2/Lt into the Newcastle Upon Tyne Volunteers (Telegraph Company) in 1907. (Northumbrian Division).He served in France from the 17th January 1915 with the rank of Captain 2nd May 1913. (5th Signal coy RE) In 1918 he served with the Corps of Signals, with the rank of Major from the 8th October 1918. Brevet Lt Colonel and Colonel 3rd November 1925.In 1921 he is serving as a Lt Colonel with the 3rd London Signals, later Anti Aircraft (Air Defence of London) 3rd November 1921.Awarded the OBE (Military) in the London Gazette 1/1/1919Awarded the Territorial Decoration in the London Gazette 19/3/1920 Gazette 31832 Page 3528.His forwarding of Gt War Medals address was given as. 53, New Bond Street, London, EC2.£350-450

1939/45-Africa and Burma Stars, Defence & War medals, Korea Service Medal named to Mjr R W Patterson RASC, UN Korea medal. Mounted for wear with a matching miniature group and badge and buttons (R W Kent blazer buttons). A silver and enamel cased Masonic award of the Rupert Patterson Lodge No 3646. On the reverse is inscribed Presented to Mrs J Rupert Patterson to commemorate the Mastership of her husband as first WM January 1914. Hallmarks for London 1913. A full dress cap badge in enamel and metal for the Royal Army Service Corps.Rupert William Patterson was born on the 13th August 1914, commissioned into the Army on the 21st February 1940. Major on the 13th August 1950, retiring 1/12/1957.Educated at Sherborne School from 1928-32 as a Law Student, son of J R Patterson of Penang.From 1933-37 he was serving in the Royal West Kent Regt.
1937- He served in the 4/7th Royal Dragoon Guards.In 1934 a 2/Lt R W Patterson was commissioned into the 20th London Regt. War Services 1939-45 shows that he sevred in the ranks for 1 year and 141 days, prior to Emergency Commission 2/Lt 21/2/1940Serving in the British Expeditionary Force in 1940 he was awarded promotion in the field. War Subst Lt 21/8/1941. Act Captain 25/12/1941 then T/Capt 25/3/1942. Finally Major in 1950.From 1940-42 He served in the Middle East including Abyssinia and SomaliaIn 1943 He was serving in Ceylon, thence 1944-45 in Burma as an acting Major.Finally in the Korean War with the Royal Army Service Corps, up to his retirement in 1957.He lived in Kenya after this time then latterly in Austria.£300-400

Serving in France from 18th May 1915, later as a Sjt in the Machine Gun Corps, later still as a Sjt attached the Kings African Rifles.His sons WWII group of three medals, all unnamed as issued. 1939/45 & Africa Stars, War Medal. Able Seaman CJX335709 James Frederick Law born C1923, the son of James and Evelyn Florence Law of Peckham London. Killed in Action serving on SS Benalbarach sunk off Algiers January 7th 1943, with the loss of 410 lives.The younger son of James and Evelyn Law born in 1927, joined the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class in February 1942. Awarded the 1939/45 Star, Atlantic & Burma Stars, the latter with Pacific bar. Photocopied details of Frank Lionel Law's Naval service 1942-47 are with the group.£100-150

Click to view full image... A HIGHLAND SOCIETY MEDAL IN SILVER 1801.A Highland Society medal for the Egypt Campaign of 1801, under General Sir Ralph Abercromby. He commanded the landings at Aboukir Bay in March 1801 against strong French opposition. On the night of the 21st March the French made a surprise attack on the British Camp, General Abercromby was hit by a ricochet and died aboard the Flagship, seven days later. Silver awards were mainly to senior officers and those who distinguished themselves in the Campaign. This example is unnamed as issued, with the Highland Society London around the rim.
