British War & Victory Medals named to 39112 Bmbr G W Fluck R A.George W Fluck a native of Ruscombe Berkshire or Ruscombe Gloucestershire, served in Theatre 4b (Egypt) from the 26th October 1914.Awarded his Medal for Bravery in the Field by the King, London Gazette issue 31227 11th March 1919. A Memorial Plaque named to Ronald Arneil.Ronald Arneil the older son of Mr & Mrs William Arneil of 59, Priory Rd, Dunfermline, Scotland. Aged 23 years when he was Killed in Action 14th October 1918, whilst serving in the Royal Engineers 4th Cavalry Division Signalling Sqdn.He had previously also served as 758 Highland Cyclist Battalion, 20275 Army Cyclist Corps and latterly 272695 The Royal Engineers.His Military Medal issued for Bravery in the Field, was on the 14/11/1916 Page 11137 of Gazette 29827.His Mention in Despatches was in the London Gazette 1st December 1916 Page 11808.His younger brother was also to lose his life in the immediate post war months, having joined up although only aged around 16 years old.A 1914/15 Star named to 1048 Gnr D Arneil R G A. British War & Victory Medals named to 2.A.M. D Arneil R A F. A Memorial Plaque named to Douglas Arneil.Douglas Arneil was born in 1899, the younger brother of Ronald, when he enlisted he would have been 15-16 years old, having served in France from the 4th April 1915 with the Fife Royal Garrison Artillery. He was 20 years old when he died in Belgium on the 20th February 1919. He is buried in Charleroi Communal Cemetery.Transferred to the Royal Flying Corps as number 406781 Airman 3rd Class, seniority dating from 5/11/1917. Leading Aircraftsman 306215 when he died.By then his mother was a widow, and had moved to 12 Bonnar Street, Dunfermline. Her late husband William was listed as a Hairdresser, in Bonnar Street.£600-800

  A 1798 MEDALLION & A VICTORIAN CROWN.A bronze coloured finish Battle of the Nile Medallion, 48mm diameter. Described and pictured in Chris Eimers British Commemorative Medals, number 889. Left facing bust of Rear Admiral of the Red, Horatio Nelson obverse. Reverse has lines depicting the Battle, ending in Nine Ships taken and four destroyed. Fenwick Del designer, Soldier and a Sailor each side of a Flag, with The Queen God Bless Her, below. The reverse has Shields with Unified In The Cause of Freedom, We Defend Our Empire above in a scroll, we serve under One crown. The round cardboard case has a label inset in the inner lid. Vice Regal Lodge Dublin. April 25th 1900. 'Sir, I am desired by the Queen to thank you for the Gold Medal Commemorative of The Boer War, which you have been good enough to offer for presentation, to Her Majesty. The Queen is much pleased with the design and the execution of the medal. Yours Faithfully Arthur Bigge.Arthur Bigge was Private Secretary to the Sovereign 1895-1901.
