  23rd MADRAS NATIVE INFANTRY GLASS SIDEPLATES.(7) Frosted glass outer section, with Now or Never and the Regimental Badge in the clear centre. Thick glass with 6.1/4" diameters, WLI in the centre with Seringapatam and Nagpore in scrolls below. In 1903 the 23rd Madras Native Infantry became the 83rd Wallajahbad Light Infantry.£30-50

  AFRICAN HARDWOOD STAFFS.An African carved elders stick or staff, with a head and torso above an entwined snake. 32.3/4" overall length. A second carved staff with octagonal and fluted decoration, 34.1/2" overall length. Both have a deep patina.£70-100

  A KATANA.A Shin Gunto Katana with signed Tang, complete with a sword knot and leather wrapped wooden saya. A very clean 26" blade, with clear temper line and gilt habaki. The Seki Arsenal stamp is apparent, the signature is of four characters and produced probably during the war years.£200-300

  A POW's MEMORABILIA FROM STALAG XXA.Pre War photographs of Frederick Marsh who was a regular soldier, in the late 1930's period. He was in India/Burma pre war then in the British Expeditionary Force, being captured at St Valerie in 1940, serving with the 51st Highland Division. They marched on the Death March to the Prisoner of War Camp and spent five years in Captivity. An original Photograph Album of POW Sports and Stage Plays etc. Also a Camp notice and his original metal ID Numbers STALAG XXA 15639. Postcard photographs, sent to his wife, etc. A sub camp of the Sztutovic Concentration Camp in Poland near Torun.£150-200
