Pkt c.d.s (June 25) with "ETATS-UNIS PAQ. BRIT. / A. CALAIS J." arrival c.d.s (July 7), backstamped in London. With French "13" charge mark strangely applied in both black and red. India 1867 6a8p slate cancelled by black "ADEN / STEAMER POINT" datestamp (13 Mar 68), being the datestamp position of the first Aden duplex (Proud type K2, only recorded 4th - 24th March), the stamp with two small tears and stained corner but possibly a unique use of the date portion of this duplex on a stamp, the cancel only in use for three weeks. Also an 1868 cover (faults) from Bombay to Aden franked 8a with the similar type arrival datestamp (Proud D4, dated 24 Sep.) in red, this datestamp being cut away from the original duplex cancel by March 28th and used as an arrival datestamp for the next ten months. Dthali. 1903 (Apr 19) Cover to England bearing QV 1a plum tied by superb "EXPERIMENTAL P.O / B-84" c.d.s of Dthali, backstamped at Aden (Apr 20) and upon arrival at Barnet (May 2). The latest known example of this very scarce datestamp which is only recorded for a total of 36 days (15 March - 19 April). The experimental P.O was established as a result of the British Boundary Commission and their accompanying army guard being located at Dthali; by April 27th a permanent Post Office had been established and issued with a "Dthali" datestamp.
