EARLY CYPHER LABEL ON SMALL LEGAL DOCUMENT WITH PAIR OF 5s-0d REVENUES; 27 Mar. 1702 vellum document (usual folds) executed in London on 27 Mar. 1702 (less than a month after William III died and Queen Anne came to the throne) with a pair of blue paper embossed 2s-6d Revenue stamps affixed using a small lead staple which - on the reverse- is covered by a rare large format "[Crown]/WR" [52] Cypher label. Very early usage of a cypher label, which had only been introduced from 1 Jan. 1701. [RPS 1995 cert.; ex Richard Payne.] see page 52. £100
