The Stadium office was purely a telegraph office and was not supposed to accept mail although three covers are known with this datestamp, one sent unpaid to the exhibition with the c.d.s tying a postage due stamp, another sent by express delivery on June 26th, and this registered cover, which is mentioned in "The Lion Roars at Wembley" by Knight and Sabey. The cancellations on this cover are by far the clearest of those on the three recorded covers. An important cover, the rarest of all the B.E.E cancellations recorded in use. £1,000-1,500 |
