A JEZAIL RIFLE. An Arab made Jezail rifle, originally brought back from Aden in the 20thC. The decorated matchlock rifle has a 37.5" octagonal barrel. Steel mounts with bone buttplate, inset bone decoration, 52.1/4" overall length. £100-200

A JAPANESE COURT TACHI. The 61cm blade with full length groove signed tachi mei Jumyo and katana mei Munetsugu, two mekuni-ana with sugaha hamon, fish skin covered tsuka having nine rice bales pinned to each side, with single Tokugawa mon menuki. Matching gilt tachi fittings, decorated overall with scrolling karakusa and Tokugawa mon. The matching tsuba again decorated with karakusa and Tokugawa mon. Complete with kin-nashiji lacquered saya decorated with gold Tokugawa mon, the fittings again engraved en-suite. See Illustration £2000-2500

A Japanese tachi with the Suriage blade of 65cm length, signed katana mei Norimune, two mekugi-ana, midare hamon, fish skin covered tsuka, wrapped with silk ito over large dragon menuki. Matching shakudo fittings, engraved overall with scrolling karakusa, tsuba with large gilt dai-seppa. Complete with kin-nashiji lacquered saya, decorated with gold Paulownia and Tokugawa mon.
