  1919 (June 18) Barranquilla to Puerto Colombia demonstration flight by William Knox Martin, flown cover bearing the special 2c stamp with "Per Service Postal Aereo 6-18-19" overprint, despatch and arrival datestamps. 200 stamps were overprinted, of which 160 were used on flown covers. Fine and scarce, with A.P.S Certificate (1960). Photo on Page 122. £400-500

  1920 (April) Compania Colombiana de Navegacion Aerea, se-tenant pairs and blocks of the two differing 10c stamps, comprising green and red-brown vertical pairs, red-brown lower left corner block of six with lower row sideways and printers name in corner, red-brown lower right corner block of five with lower row of three sideways, unused without gum. The block of six a little toned, otherwise fine, the block of five with Bortfeldt Certificate (2008), this block and both pairs with other expert handstamps or signatures. (15). £200-250

  Train Crash. 1928 (Mar 20) Cover from Adana, Turkey to USA franked 32g, minor staining, backstamped at New York (May 8) and Birmingham, Ala. with violet "SERVICE POSTAL FRANCAIS / Correspondance retardee par / suite de l'incendie d'un / wagon-poste / Reconstitue par le Service Francais / NE PAS TAXER". Recovered from a train fire at Mantes, this cover specifically mentioned in "Railway Disaster Mail" by Gwynn and Hoggarth. £80-100

Also an unused Par Ballon lettersheet, "Lettre - Journal de Paris, Gazette des Absents" No. 35 (4 Feb 1871) printed just after the end of the siege, and a bronze medallion commemorating the ballooning exploits of Henry Gifford.
