1841 (May 11) White Inland Department, G.P.O, lettersheet with partly printed address panel "REGISTERED LETTER / Postmaster of ....." and "Page (64) / No. (21) / G.P.O" used to forward an enclosed registered letter to the Postmaster of Marlborough, the letter addressed to William Shepherd in Great Bedwyn, the lettersheet signed inside by Shepherd with a London c.d.s and "BEDWIN" undated circle. Until c.1855 inland registered mail was forwarded to Postmasters enclosed within green lettersheets; this lettersheet printed on white paper would appear to predate these green lettersheets.
