  Postal Stationery. 1889 1d Lettersheet produced by The Half-Price Closed Letter Co. Ltd., containing approximately 75 adverts, two large adverts for Bird's Custard Powder and "The Copper Washer" with illustrations, a letter written on the attached blank page, posted from Wroxall to Shaftsbury, small repair to the flap, otherwise fine. The first example we have seen of this multiple advertising lettersheet which was sold for ½d, unusually fine condition. £300-350

  Cowes. 1841-46 Entire letters from Mrs Ann Roach, Postmistress and Distributor of Stamps in Cowes, all posted from Cowes to W.T Graeme, Stamp Office, Winchester, franked 1d cancelled by a Maltese Cross (3, all 1841) or "225". Two letters acknowledge the receipt of stamps (one for 12 sheets of penny postage labels), one requests stamps to be forwarded as soon as possible being in want of notarials, the other advises that the stamps ordered have still not arrived. Four interesting letters from the Winchester Stamp Office correspondence (found on the Winchester rubbish dump in 1944). (4). £150-200

  Newport - Frees. 1790-92 Entire letter and a front from Governors of the Isle of Wight, the 1790 front from Sir Richard Worsley sent free to Portsmouth Dockyard with "N. ISLE OF / WIGHT 97", the 1792 entire letter from Thomas Orde to London with "N. ISLE OF / WIGHT" and red "FREE / P" datestamp. Orde asks for a turtle of 50 or 60 pounds to be delivered in two or three weeks. Two fine early Newport handstamps. (2). £100-120
