Click to view full image... Knutsford. 1904 Picture postcard posted within Knutsford, a KEVII ½d tied by the oval Advance Posting cancel, code "K.U.". The four corners of the card clipped, otherwise fine. Neither Kidd or Campbell record the scheme in operation at Knutsford in 1904, although it is recorded in 1903 and 1906-09; this undoubtedly genuine card proves it was operating this year, and it seems likely it also operated in 1905. Only 725 items posted at Knutsford in 1903, a similar number likely to have been posted in 1904. A rare unlisted cancel, one of two examples now recorded. Photo on Page 26. £400-500
