FERAUD/PANAMA" FAC ON ECUADOR COVER VIA JAMAICA TO G.B.; Attractive 22 May 1836 EL (reinforced folds) from "Guayaquil" to London charged "2/2" with a very fine strike of the very rare 2-ring "FORWARDED BY/I.B. FERAUD/PANAMA" on the front, a partly fine Kingston/Jamaica c.d.s. (1 Aug.) across the join on the reverse beside a red London c.d.s. (22 Sept.). Good historical contents about the recent Revolution and Plague in Guayaquil. We do not recall having seen this distinctive Panama FAC before. Exhibition Item. [Ex Hugh Wood.] £220

BYRNE" FAC COVER EX U.S. TO CHILE VIA JAMAICA; 27 Sept. 1842 EL from "New York" to Valparaiso but routed "c/o Messrs Elin Wright & Co., Kingston Jamaica" and sent on from there on "31st Octr. p [Ship] Larne" to Panama and so with a very fine boxed "PANAMA [Novr 25/842]/FORWARDED BY/FREDERICK W. BYRNE" nicely placed on the top flap with "11/2" postal rate at top right of address. The contents include; "...send this in the absence of a direct opportunity by the way of Jamaica...". Remarkable doubly forwarded cover routed via Jamaica. £220
