FLYNN ERROL: (1909-1959) Australian Actor. T.L.S., Errol Flynn, one page, 4to, Rome, Italy, 28th January 1954, to the Manager of Barclays O.D. Corp Ltd. in London, on the attractive printed stationery of Errol Flynn Enterprises which features a full length image of Flynn holding a sword. Flynn states that he regrets the confusion 'concerning the cheque my father handed to your Jamaican Agents' and continues to explain 'Without realizing that this cheque was still outstanding I transferred most of my funds from Barclays Bank of Gracechurch Street to Switzerland, without leaving them any instructions as to a possible outstanding cheque.' The actor encloses a cheque for $468 (no longer present) and also adds that there will be a capital payment of £2000 due at the end of March and enquires what the amount of interest due will be. With a received and answered stamp to the upper right corner and several pencil and ink annotations in an unidentified hand to the edges. The typed text is a little weak, although completely legible, however the signature is bold. Matted in blue and framed and glazed in a blue and gold coloured frame to an overall size of 13 x 17. About VG £150 - 200

Lean and Jarre are famous for their collaborations, the composer writing the scores for all of Lean's films from Lawrence of Arabia (1962) onwards. Jarre won three Academy Awards, for Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Doctor Zhivago (1965) and A Passage to India (1984), all of which were directed by Lean.
