An intriguing A.L.S., Vivien, to the verso of two vintage colour French postcards, one depicting a pair of young lovers and the other showing a young lady with a musical instrument, n.p., 27th June n.y., to 'Darling'. Leigh writes, in part, 'Forgive my more than fearful writing but the drugs they stuff me with make me feel v. peculiar. How lovely you'll be here the first night - Have a beautiful time in California. Do you think I should wear this dress (P.T.O.) for the opening of G.W.T.W. Not that I'll be at any of them! They say 3 months only thank goodness...' Letters by Leigh referring to Gone With The Wind are scarce and desirable. Some very light, extremely minor age wear, otherwise VG £200 - 300

HEPBURN AUDREY: (1929-1993) Belgian-born Actress, Academy Award winner. A good, early A.L.S., Audrey Hepburn, two pages, 8vo, n.p., 7th July 1949, to Mr. Fearn. Hepburn states 'Your encouraging words gave me a great deal of pleasure, esspecialy (sic) as I am still new and fairly unexperianced (sic) to the stage' and continues 'Your very attractive song I am returning as I am still taking singing lessons and by no means yet capable of putting over the number.' One very slight paperclip rust stain at the head of the page, otherwise VG £200 - 300
In 1948 Hepburn had arrived in London to study at the Ballet Rambert, although chose to pursue an acting career. She appeared in several musical theatre revues including Sauce Tartare at the Cambridge Theatre in the West End in 1949 and, realising that her voice was not strong and needed to be developed, took elocution lessons with Felix Aylmer.
