1947 15 Aug 3p - 10R - 'Star and Crescent' overprints on India - the COMPLETE set of 17 values, UNMOUNTED MINT. We doubt that a finer set exists. Close examination not a single stamp bears trace of hinging or toning - remarkably fresh. Trifling minor gum bend only on 10R typical of these issues - an odd minor bend on a lower value, the other Rupee values equally beautiful. Potentially a set with a remarkable future if it follows the 'Gandhi' trend for specimen overprints set by India. A joy to offer unlikely to be repeated in the next 15 years.
