GERMANY - COLLECTIONS

17327
Zones & Occupations - The most remarkable specialist collection housed in 14 full size Lindner 60 page matching stockbooks and stated to catalogue Michel Euro 50,000= ... approx GBP £43,000= at current exchange rates. Comprising WWl Occupations (1 volume), WW ll Occupations (2 volumes), WWll Bohemia & Moravia (1 volume), Joint issues (3 volumes), Soviet Zone (3 volumes), British & American Zones currency reform (1 volume), ditto Buildings (1 volume), Brandenburg, Berlin & Soviet Zone (1 volume), and Mecklenburg (1 volume). The most remarkable apparently well sorted/attributed collection with reasonable quantities of many issues ready for further sorting / study and including varieties / scarcer material already identified. We observe good quantities of mint as well as used + a small quantity of mint multiples / sheets in folder etc. Certainly scope for continuation / further study. Can be shipped anywhere worldwide - but heavy! Please contact / call for verbal report and advice of additional shipping cost if outside the UK. 14 volumes, many 1,000s, stc c.GBP £43,000= equivalent. £4500

GENERAL THEMATICS

17328
BIRDS - A remarkable mint and used 'Birds' thematic collection formed over the previous decade at least, comprising mint / used housed in some 9 two-ring, broad 'lever arch' style files and including 2 of the files especially dedicated to 'Audobon', + a couple of part filled stockbooks and an incredibly well thumbed and 'repaired' SG 'Birds' catalogue marked up with those present and those still presumably in flight and being pursued. Well constructed home-made leaves - the collection organised by countries - pencil annotated in places - with better scarcer values observed, cheek by jowl with cheaper scarce types from issuing countries. 1,000's of stamps, including range of unallocated on stockcards - possibly more recent purchases. The collection being previously insured for £5,000= with an estimated replacement cost of £3,000= for stamps alone regardless of time invested to replace. Offered intact, ready for continuation - the most popular of thematics - it would be a joy to continue adding to this lovely collection. Please telephone should you require deeper detail. Outside of the UK this collection can be shipped anywhere world-wide - but at additional cost. Please enquire. Thank you. £2400
17329
SCOUTS - The exceptional 12 volume (ring binders) predominantly mint stamps and miniature sheets collection - of which there are 5 volumes - plus incredibly some 7 volumes of covers spanning a wide period of time and including obviously difficult to acquire / replace material (which would probably sell extremely well on eBay!). This is a lovely very good to high quality collection with material even as recent as 2010 included. The predominantly mint stamps being painstakingly arranged - spaces here/there for inclusion of missing scarcer items. Unfortunately no 'index' to this collection - but it would not be hard to put together ... It is not often that we ever have a 'Scouts' collection of this magnitude - in fact this is the first significant such Scouts collection that we can recall - modest collections in the low hundreds of pounds value range come and go - but amazingly this is the first significant collection we have handled / offered in some 40 years. We suspect the collection is conservatively estimated - there being so many hundred covers - it is not hard to imagine how much these might cost individually to acquire. Please telephone should you wish to have deeper detail. Outside of the UK this collection can be shipped anywhere world-wide - but at additional cost. Please enquire. Thank you. £1750

CAPE OF GOOD HOPE

17330
1864 6d pale lilac watermark INVERTED, a recent discovery - previously catalogued and known as used only. The probably unique INVERTED watermark mint pair, 2011 Brandon colour photo-certificate states 'unused horizontal pair is genuine. Creases, regummed and right hand stamp with small ink mark'. The pair is fresh and has slight gum creasing expected of such an issue, one pulled perf. Probably the only such mint pair extant, previously catalogued as used only at £375. (Used pair if exists £750++). Exhibition piece. PH Plate 1 £1200

GREAT BRITAIN - OFFICIALS

17331
1840 "V R" Official 1d black, remarkably fine clean impression example, four close to well clear margins - apparently unused without gum but we believe this stamp may be one of the chemically cleaned trial cancellation examples that Rowland Hill experimented with. Tiny suggestion of marginal abrasion NE to right of the 'E' of postage mentioned for accuracy ... An exceptionally fine appearance example with just the merest 'hint' of yellowing in the area of the Queen's ear. Certainly as good if not better than the example previously sold by us at £6,400= to a trade bidder a couple of years ago. Guaranteed genuine in all respects. Catalogued £28,000 as mint OR used. Missing from most GB collections. RARE. Cat. £28000 PH Plate 1 £6000

HONG KONG

17332
1877 CC 16c yellow fine used B62, one short perf Cat. £60 PH Plate 39 £18

HONG KONG - TREATY PORTS

17333
1865 12c. Blue, watermark Crown CC, perforation 14, sharing "N 2" (Nagasaki) and "S 1" (Shanghai) postmarks in blue. Probably unique combination, accompanied by clear 2011 Brandon colour photo-certificate. Few irregular perfs and small ink mark reverse, very good used, clear N 2 strike. A MAJOR RARITY - EXHIBITION PIECE. Cat. £2000 PH Plate 1 £1200
