1854 Incoming Mail: Small envelope to 'Capt Egar, 69th Regt', rated '3' in manuscript, crossed out & '6' written over the Yellow cds of 'Clifton OC 1 1854' (Somerset). A note at side, partly crossed out says "Not a common soldier's letter at Barbadoes rate" which probably explains the rate change.
