Niger Coast. G.B 1887 1/2d Vermilion inter-panneau gutter block of six cancelled by three strikes of 40x25mm violet framed Akassa datestamp with the date shown as "1 DEC RECD", similar in style but much smaller than the Akassa datestamp (S.G. type 5, Ince/Sacher type 9) that was used from 1897 to 1899, this datestamp previously unrecorded, possibly a forgery, offered "as-is". Two heavy creases to the central gutter and light corner creases to the lower left and lower right stamps, otherwise fine, an interesting item. Photo on page 160. £100-120
