Argentina - Graf Spee Internees. 1940-44 Covers from Germany to "Graf Spee" internees in Argentina (14), three stampless covers with postage paid in cash, addressed to Cordoba (6, four c/o German Consulate), Isla Martin Garcia (2), German Hospital at Buenos Ayres, the German Embassy at Buenos Ayres (5, one with redirection label to the German Consulate at Cordoba), or Las Varillas, all endorsed "Graf Spee" in red crayon, three with Isla Martin Garcia datestamps. The nine 1940-41 covers flown by L.A.T.I to Brazil and Condor on to Argentina; the five 1943-44 covers sent by Pan Am via Lisbon and the USA. Also picture postcards depicting the "Graf Spee", the "Graf Spee" on fire (4), ships Captain and officers, funeral of Capt. Langsdorff, damage to H.M.S "Exeter", Frank Leedale who was held captive on the "Graf Spee" for 12 days (signed on reverse), British warships, etc., and various reproduction photos.
