MANUSCRIPT "STAMPED AT PORUS" ENDORSED G.B. 4d COVER WITH "A68" NUMERAL TO KINGSTON; Attractive 6 May 1859 E to Kingston with G.B. 4d Rose-Carmine tied by a very fine early Porus "A68" Numeral with mainly very fine small sanserif double-arcs "PORUS" cds on the flap, but also - exceptionally - endorsed by the sender ["John Sawers" - acting as Postmaster?] "Stamped at Porus P.O. J.S." alongside the stamp. Exhibition Quality, and the only such endorsement that we have recorded on a GB Used in Jamaica cover.

MAURITIUS - RAID SAMAT, AIR FRANCE 100th FLIGHT, ETC.: Range of covers inc. 14 Nov 1933 envs (2) registered at the 1r 20c rate flown by R Samat from Mauritius to Reunion, one with special squadron cachet, boxed "RETOUR/A L'ENVOYEUR" h.s. and bearing a tete-beche pair of 1931 air mail labels the other env (roughly opened) continued to London via French steamer "Chantilly" to Africa and sent on by Imperial Airways service. With cachet & signed by pilot Paul Louis Lamerle on reverse. Plus 31 March 1947 covers from Mauritius to Reunion (4), Madagascar & S.
