SG 1, £1,700.; Venezuela 1882 (Aug.) A.B.N.Co. set to 1b in horizontal pairs showing large red "SPECIMEN" handstamped across each pair. The first, and rarest, of all Venezuela specimens; Tierra del Fuego 1891 10c carmine-rose mint block of 20, minimal separation of perfs. SG1 £500+; Uruguay 1896 Suarez 5c black & pale blue imperf. between horizontal mint pair. Very rare. SG 178a unpriced, and Colombia 1923-28 SCADTA 1923-28 20c grey double printing very good used with Barranquilla c.d.s. Also, a normal example in the grey-black shade for comparison. [ex Batley]. A most unusual and valuable assembly. (Small Qty.)

  FORGERIES - A SPECIAL PRINTED ALBUM CONTAINING THE FORGERIES OF FOURNIER: c1928 A printed album produced by the L'UNION PHILATELIQUE DE GENEVE to display the work of Fournier, with seventeen introduction pages (inc a preface by Serrane, and pages by E Dienna, Fred Melville & Heinrich Kohler). These are followed by examples of the Fournier forgeries on 138 pages arranged by countries inc. Argentina, British East Africa, German Sates, Austria, Belgium, Borneo, Brazil, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Verde, Chile, Columbia, French Colonies, Egypt, Spain, Italian Colonies, Ethiopia, Fiji, France, Greece, Guinea, Portuguese Colonies, Luxembourg, Macao, Monaco, Philippines, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Switzerland, Transvaal, Turkey & Uruguay, Followed by five pages of cancellations and seven of overprints. The collection includes a good number of proofs and multiples. All have overprints or under prints to denote they are forgeries. A most important record of these sometimes dangerous items.
