  A GERMAN WWII FIELD COMPASS A German Busch of Rathenow bacolite compass in working order. Preferred by many in the German Army, made for use under trying conditions. In working order and appears to be dated 43 in one of the underneath markings. £40-50

  A LOBSTERTAIL HELMET. A 17thC style helmet with high comb and sliding nasal bar. Plume holder at the rear with rivetted tail and peak. The ear pieces are present though detached, the skull of two piece construction. £400-500

  A WALKING OUT STICK. A weighted walking out or swaggerstick, with leather covered hardwood inner and arabic silver coin ends. 18.1/2" overall length, possibly privately purchased by an officer during the war. £50-70

  A MOUNTED POLICE OFFICERS BATON. A black painted baton stick of a mounted city police officer. 23.3/4" long with painted crest of a castle in the centre with three towers flying pennants. The legend reading Nisi Dominus Frustrata, with a crown above. The motto is used by the Edinburgh Police, though the castle appears differently depicted. £70-100

  AN OFFICERS SWORD. The sword worn by Captain Lancelot Charles Digby Robinson RAOC late Essex Regt. An 1897 Pattern sword with GRI cypher on the clean 32.1/4" blade, marked John Jones & Co Ltd, 6 Regent Street, London SW. Captain Robinson and his wife were killed on the 31/5/1935 during the Quetta Earthquake in the Baluchistan District occurring at 3:02 hrs, It is thought that between 30.000 and 60,000 people lost their lives in this disaster. Educated at Bedford School where he played for and captained the 1st XI. Then at Sandhurst where he scored 143 against Woolwich at Lords. He played several times for Bedfordshire Cricket XI. A good steady batsman and an accurate slow bowler is stated in Wisden. £100-150

Raised rear section with first oval then a round shaped handle, finished with a pommel featuring nine carved heads. 45" overall in length, with carved geometric interlocking designs covering the entire piece. A Ceremonial paddle from Austral Island, of classical shape and form. 37.3/4" overall length, elongated leaf shape blade and six faces on the flat shaped pommel. Ex Mayor of Rangoon as a mememto of the Surrender of Japanese in Burma to the Allied Forces on the 28th August 1945 at 00:50 hour. 6.3 oz 6" diameter, 3.1/2" high. Click to view full image...Click to view full image... A LANG PERCUSSION WALKING STICK-GUN. An I Lang Patent of 7 Haymarket London N3 made concealed shotgun, as a folding action walking stick. Originally sold in a case with rifled or smoothbore interchangeable barrels, 42.1/2" when ready for firing. The folding ramrod or cleaning rod, sits neatly in the muzzle with blank plug end. Joseph Lang 1821-1853 was working at this address, before moving to grander premises. The bark effect finish and proof marked barrel, along with his makers name on the action are indicative of a good quality made piece. See Illustrations £800-1000

Click to view full image... A 1919 CARVED PROPELLER BOSS (INDIA). An Indian carved propeller boss with a 1920-30's period clock in the centre. The foliage carvings are with an RAF and wings at 12:00 o'clock and Crashed at Ambala October 2nd 1919 below. This was the first 99 squadron fatality since the GT War. Stamped on the boss is GI520 N56-DH-9A-400 HP Liberty-22699RH-D 3050-P 2230. Also GL520 stamped on the reverse side. See Illustration £150-200

Lacking a flashguard and made in 1913 by Alex Coppel, carrying the cypher of Wilhelm II of Prussia. Complete with its early leather and steel mounted scabbard.   AN RAF OFFICERS JACKET & WINGS. A Royal Air Force Officers uniform jacket, with Kings Crown Pilots wings and medal ribbons. The cuff rank of a Flt Lt and ribbon bar of The 1939/45 also France & Germany Stars and Defence Medal. No date has been found though it would appear to be C1945, as the War Medal was issued after that. £40-60

  FRAMED MAD KING LUDWIG PIECE. A framed knight on horseback in fighting mode, with L under a crown embriodered in the velvet surround. The bullet holes shot in it are by vendors provenance, those of the mad King Ludwig. Born in 1845 he succeeded his father aged 18 years old. For a while building castles fascinated him, then his 'madness' set in. Many tales and questions are talked about his life and death. It is believed this piece was 'liberated' after the war. The painting in the centre has a signature and an estimated 8 bullet holes. 12" wide by 15" high approximately, frame in kit form though the shaped glass is present. £100-150

  A NAVAL OFFICERS SWORD. A Kings Crown naval officers sword, complete with scabbard and outer carrycase. The very clean blade of 31.3/4" is decorated with a crown above the fouled anchor and various foilage etc. Black leather and brass scabbard in very good order, with brown leather and chamois inner carrycase. Both sword and case are named to S A Pearce RN a Gunnery Officer, with swordknot attached. S A Pearce was commissioned as Gunnery Officer dated 12/12/1941. £150-200
