1882 (Sep 24) Cover with enclosed letter from A.E Sandbach at Ismailia, addressed to his father in Wales franked G.B 2½d cancelled by "B.A / E" barred obliterator, "BRITISH ARMY POST OFFICE / EGYPT" code B c.d.s alongside tying the stamp, Oct 9th arrival backstamp. The "B.A / E" cancel is only known on this one cover and on three other single stamps or small pieces. 1890 Imitation "B.A / E" obliterator produced for use at the British Army Post Office tent exhibited at the 1890 Penny Post Jubilee celebrations held at the City of London Guildhall, an impression on a stampless cover (embossed official arms on flap) endorsed "Specimen of postal cancellation used by the British army in Egypt, 1st Soudan Campaign", and 1890 Jubilee 1d postcard posted within London with the Guildhall and "B.A / E" handstamps. This handstamp only had seven horizontal bars, the original handstamp having thirteen. (2). £150-180

Martinique - First British Occupation. 1762 (Feb 3) Entire letter from a British Office, Alexander Farquharson, headed from "Camp on the Island of Martinique", to his father in Scotland. Probably carried to England on H.M.S "Nightingale", posted from London with "25/MR" Bishop Mark, charged 1/7. The good letter includes "we drove the enemy from all their batteries on this side of the island and are just now besieging Fort Royal which we expect to be masters of in a few days. Capt Murray received a dangerous wound in the attack of 24 January ..... Capt. McKinnon received a slight wound in the head but is in no danger. Poor Rollo son to Ld Rollo died here of a fever". The British first occupied Martinique in 1762, the Fort Royal garrison surrendering to General Monckton on 4th February; the island was returned to France in 1763. A very scarce campaign letter. £500-600

Propaganda Forgeries. 1943 Card printed by British Intelligence and dropped over Germany, depicting Dr. Ley with a quote from a speech he gave claiming food rations are identical for all Germans, reverse with text of a Gestapo document showing Chiefs of Staff of German services actually receive four times the ration of civilians, bearing a 3pf propaganda forgery, superb unused. Also a leaf shaped aerial propaganda leaflet, and 1941 German postcard with Churchill caricature 'stamp' commercially used within Germany franked 6pf.
