Used in London E.C on this one day only at a Mobile P.O when the regular Post Office was damaged in the blitz. £100-120

G.B/Japan - P.O.W Mail. 1945 (Apr 24) 1½d Air Mail postal stationery Prisoner of War post card, posted from London to Signalman E.R Lammin in Hakodate Camp, Japan, with violet censored cachet of Hakodate and red censor chop (Tett type 6-11-202). This 1½d card was not issued until April 2nd 1945, and virtually none of these cards were received by P.O.Ws before the war ended in August; David Tett only records one other 1½d card with a Japanese censor, also sent to Hakodate. These perforated sample stamps were illustrated and described in a 1979 article in "The Philatelist", which stated "some imperfs were also produced, probably as colour trials and proofs, but these are exceedingly rare".
