This classical dress from the 1930's is made from paper thin, light weight rayon. The bodice is embellished with diamante studs and the low cut back with its curved diamante strap falls to a small peplum waist. the long skirt falls to the front with a star burst of diamante and through clever tailoring has a small back train.   A 1930'S GOLD LAME EVENING GOWN
The dress is made from a heavy vintage gold lame fabric. The front Empire waist falls to a lower back seam. At the back of the rounded neckline is a small opening and down the side of the dress, with popper fastenings. 3/4 length sleeves, the fabric falls from the waist to a small train at the back. At a later date gold ribbon has been sewn along the seams to strengthen the weight of the fabric. 24" waist. (1)

An exquisite and elegant shell pink satin peignoir. The gown dates to the 1930's and was owned by an Italian aristocrat. The beautiful light satin has been embellished throughout with inlaid needle lace depicting small bunches of flowers. Shearing on the shoulders form a gathered and rouched front leading down to handmade lace buttons. 57" long x 28" waist. To compliment the peignoir is a chiffon silk and lace negligee style vest, with chevroned pin-tucks, pretty bell shaped sleeves and a pair of silk embroidered pants. (3)

  A '1946' EMBROIDERED CREAM CREPE BIAS CUT WEDDING GOWN
This dress was made for an Aristocrat's wedding just after the war in Lincoln Cathedral on 14th December 1946.
Embroidered cream silk bias cut to create a beautiful silhouette, with pretty v neck, diamond waistband, pleating down the back of the dress to a slight train. Attached belt with three fabric covered buttons, fastening at the side with poppers. Long sleeves running to a point at the wrist, fastening with poppers at the cuff. Waist 26". (1)

  TWO 1930'S BIAS CUT LACE EVENING DRESSES
These dresses were owned by an Aristocrat and are remembered to have been worn whilst serving in the war as a FANY (SOE) in North Africa and later in Italy.
A pretty light blue needle-run lace, long evening dress with shoulder straps, silk under slip, side popper fasteners, belt with front bow and bolero jacket. Waist 28". A further black lace bias cut evening gown with very fine chiffon under slip and lace shawl. Waist 28". (2)

A beautiful light brown georgette dropped waist dress with gold and charcoal grey bugle beads hand-sewn to the edges. The fabric is in a fair condition, although fragile and breaking away where the heavy beads are sewn. The dress has a side opening with poppers and a silk under-slip with side poppers. A pretty silk parasol which originally went with the dress. (2)

Brussels style, capuccino 1920's lace ankle length dress, has been made from flounces of needle run lace tiered to form a chic elegance. The lace has been needle run through a ground of fine tulle, depicting roses and leaves, imitating Brussels needle point. The lace is intricate, hand sewn, light in weight. (There are a few tiny holes in the tulle, which hardly show, the dress needs to be cleaned, to brighten the colour.) There is an inner layer of very fine tulle, which doubles to make shoulder straps. There are no openings or fastenings. There is a soft silk slip with side poppers and silk straps. Size. Together with a veil of equally beautiful needle lace run on a soft fine tulle ground. (2)

Fine white tulle with a central panel of lace running down the front and back across the shoulders and down the sleeves. The tulle has been pin-tucked below the lace waistband. Small dots of raised green embroidery run between the lines of lace. Fastened at the back with metal hooks and eye. A second layer of tulle has a pretty gathered trim around the hem which falls into a small train. 25" waist. (1)

This beautiful late Victorian lace skirt has been made from mixed Brussels part needle point part bobbin lace, laid on a net ground. There is one seam with a back opening. The skirt is ankle length at the front falling into a small train at the back. A few small marks, otherwise the lace is intact. (1)

A three piece court dress made from emerald green silk satin, embellished in iridescent beetle wings, couched to the fabric in gold thread. The bodice is edged in lace with wide open sleeves, the front is embroidered with beetle wings, boned and the back was laced. The inner white satin skirt is tied around the waist with ribbon, there is a small pocket in the side of the skirt and the front is embroidered fully with beetle wings and gold couch work. The outer skirt is heavily padded along the outer edges falling into a long train at the back, decorated with beetle wings and gold couch work, with a flounce of lace lining on the underside. Labelled on the bodice 'C & H Dickins & Jones 232 - 234 Regent St, 31 Argyll Street' The beetle wings are as bright as new, the satin is in good condition although there is a stain on the inner white skirt. (3)

Hand embroidered in a kaleidoscope of silk threads worked on a silk/wool ground. The whole piece is covered in intricate needlework with a paisley, petal, flower motif at the centre. Surrounded in a repeat pattern of paisley filled with colourful flowers, leaves and branches of green silk feather and cross stitch. The petal borders are created with a clear ground. The corners have been satin stitched and depict the peacocks feathers. Not good condition, needs TLC! 336cms x 336cms (1)

This very beautiful heavy crepe silk embroidered shawl, has been hand embroidered in silk satin stitch. The enormous pansy flowers have been carefully shaded in a kaleidoscope of natural colours embroidered onto a black ground. The workmanship is exceptional and the shawl is in very good condition, with a border of black silk crocheted lace extending to a long fringe of silk threads.
