Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was ordered on the 5th May 1927 for Von Lengerke & Detmould in New York as a double trigger gun. They confirm that the gun was subsequently re-stocked by them in the late 1930's. The conversion to a bob-weight single trigger was not executed by the makers, but they have examined the gun and stated that the conversion is of "outstanding workmanship" and certainly equal to Boss standards. The current vendor has had the gun recently serviced by Boss & Co, involving a strip and clean, regulation of the single trigger (with replaced hammer and sear parts) and the barrels stripped, relayed and reblacked. The Beesley patent vertical top locking bolts are an exceptionally rare addition to Boss over and under guns. According to research carried out by Donald Dallas, they were used on just a limited number of Live Pigeon guns and double rifles.
