Provenance: We are kindly informed that this was the first example of a Boss type round-bar self-opening gun produced by Hartmann & Weiss and it was made as an exhibition gun.Literature: This gun featured on the front cover of 'The Shooting Sportsman' magazine, January/February 2010 Edition. The article in the magazine features an in-depth article on Hartmann & Weiss past and present and offers an insight into both their idealology and methodology in producing some of the most exquisite firearms available today.For a short period in the 1930's, Boss & Co. introduced a full self-opening gun to complement their existing assisted opening version. Only fifty six were produced between 1933 and 1937 (with two recorded as having been finished from Pre-War stock in 1946).
