  1926-37 Covers with datestamps of Kuala Krai (2, type D6), Sungei Kusial (D3), Kota Bharu (D5) or Gua Musang (D2), the Sungei Kusial cover sent air mail to New Zealand, the Kota Bharu cover and one of the Kuala Krai covers registered with boxed registration handstamps and "RECOMMANDE". The Gua Musang c.d.s on a red band envelope with some discolouration and minor edge faults but a very rare cancel, the others fine, an interesting and scarce group. (5). £1,200-1,500

British Empire Exhibition. 1924 1c Postcard uprated 1c to Penang and a cover to the USA bearing 1c pair and 10c both cancelled by circular "BRITISH EMPIRE / (Lion) / EXHIBITION" slogan handstamps, the postcard with "SUNGEI PATANI" c.d.s alongside (D3, 21 Aug., earliest recorded date of the c.d.s and slogan), the cover with "KULIM" c.d.s (June 30) alongside.   1900 Malta 1d + 1d QV reply card, the outward half sent from Sliema to Paris but missent to Pantin, with arrival c.d.s; the attached reply half sent from Paris to Annweiler in Germany, cancelled by "UNITED STATES / POSTAL STATION / PARIS / EXPOSITION / 1900" flag machine. A most unusual use of both halves of a reply card, the return half incorrectly accepted as valid despite not being addressed to the issuing country. Click to view full image... 1867 De La Rue ink recipes, piece cut from the printers archive book of ink recipes showing imperf De La Rue dummy stamps in blocks of four printed in pale Antwerp blue or Italian blue, the reverse side with similar blocks in red (imitation vermilion) and pale yellow, all four marked for "New Zealand Postage" with the ink recipe shown alongside, all four inks supplied in March 1867, the Italian blue ink supplied again in April 1873. An interesting piece, the inks used for the 1864-71 1d, 2d, 4d and 1871-73 6d stamps, the red block oxidised, otherwise fine and unique. (4 blocks on both sides of a single piece).   1867 De La Rue ink recipes, a similar piece from the printers archive book of ink recipes with imperf De La Rue dummy stamps in blocks of four printed in vermilion (imitation) or maroon, both marked "New Zealand 1d Postage", the maroon ink marked "This colour was made to supersede the above vermilion ink and a quantity was sent for trial as a much cleaner worker". The reverse bears recipes for white and mauve or Syrian purple inks both marked "New Zealand Postage" and "supplied March 1867", the mauve ink further supplied in 1873, 1875 and 1880. The mauve ink also bears a block of four dummy stamps (the block missing from the white ink recipe), all four with written ink recipe details. An interesting piece, the inks used for the 1864-71 1d and 3d stamps and the 1874-78 1d, the vermilion block oxidised, otherwise fine and unique. (3 blocks on both sides of a single piece). £450-550
