Great Southern & Western. 1884 (Jan 15) 1d Pink envelope bearing a ½d stamp to pay the late fee, the enclosed letter from Youghal, cancelled by two strikes of "TPO / 498" diamond killer (W.897), also a single 1d lilac with similar "TPO / 495" killer. The cover missing its flap with a small piece torn from the upper edge, the lower part of the cancel a little smudged but easily readable, believed to be the only two examples of these TPO killer cancels recorded. Irish Post Office numbers 493-498 were simply allocated to "T.P.O" in the 1887 list of numbers, but were no longer shown in use by the 1892 list. Wilson recorded this single cover which he allocated to the G.S&W.T.P.O which ran between Dublin and Cork. (2). Photo on Pages 177 & 218. £250-300
