O'TOOLE PETER: (1932-2013) Anglo-Irish Actor, Academy Award winner. Book signed, a paperback edition of More Low Life by Jeffrey Bernard, First Edition published by Pan Books Ltd., London, 1989. Signed by O'Toole with his name alone in black ink to the half title page and also signed by Jeffrey Bernard (1932-1997) British Journalist, known for his weekly Low Life column in The Spectator. Later immortalised in the play Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell by Keith Waterhouse. Together with an unsigned printed 8vo Foyles Luncheon seating plan for A Tribute to Mr Peter O'Toole at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, 7th February 1990, attended by Bernard and presumably where the two signatures were obtained, and two related newspaper articles. GARBO GRETA: (1905-1990) Swedish Actress, Academy Award winner. Rare D.S., Greta Garbo, two pages, 4to (and the second page neatly trimmed to oblong 8vo), California, 1941. The typed document is addressed to Loew's Incorporated and the actress consents 'to the use of my name in the lyrics of a song entitled "The Movies Gonna Get Ya' " written by E. Y. Harburg and Burton Lane, which song I understand is to be used in connection with your photoplay tentatively entitled "Babes on Broadway"', the document continuing with the lyrics, including the lines 'Oh, you've got that smile, that Klieg-light smile, the fans go wild about...., And the movies gonna get ya' if you don't watch out!....Oh you've got that oomph, that Garbo oomph, that makes 'em cheer and shout.....Sure, the movies gonna get ya' if you don't watch out!', and concluding by Garbo stating that 'No compensation is payable to me in connection with the use of my name as aforesaid, and I hereby release and relieve you of and from all claims and demands of any kind....' Boldly signed by Garbo with her name alone in dark fountain pen ink at the conclusion. Professionally double matted in black and brown alongside a 9.5 x 13 portrait of Garbo and framed and glazed in an ornate frame to an overall size of 26 x 22. One very light, minor stain at the base of the second page, not affecting the text or signature, otherwise VG £800 - 1200

CUSHING PETER: (1913-1994) English Actor, famous for his appearances in Hammer Horror Films, as well as roles in Dr. Who, Star Wars and portraying Sherlock Holmes. T.L.S., Peter Cushing, one page, oblong 8vo, n.p., 11th September 1958, to Arthur Westwood. Cushing thanks his correspondent for their enthusiastic letter and continues 'I start "The Hound of the Baskervilles" on Monday, in which I am to play Mr. Sherlock Holmes. Andre Morrell is playing Dr. Watson and Christopher Lee Sir Henry Baskerville.' Two file holes to the upper edge, not affecting the text or signature. Together with Christopher Lee (1922- ) English Actor, famous for his appearances opposite Peter Cushing in Hammer Horror films. A printed oblong 12mo card sending good wishes for Christmas and the New Year, signed by Lee in blue ink with his name alone at the base. Dated 1960 in a small neat hand in the upper right corner. REEVES GEORGE: (1914-1959) American Actor, best known for his portrayal of Superman in the 1950s television programme Adventures of Superman. Rare dark fountain pen ink signature and inscription, 'To Sonny, thanks, George Reeves', on a page removed from an autograph album. Autographs of Reeves are rare in any form following his untimely death at the age of 45 from a gunshot. Some light discoloration and age wear to the edges of the page and some small file holes to the right edge. One very light, minor vertical crease to the centre, none affecting the signature. An extremely rare vintage signed and inscribed 9 x 6.5 photograph of Flynn in a close-up portrait pose from the 1964 film Mission to Venice. Signed in blue fountain pen ink to the image. Autographs of Flynn are extremely rare in any form following his presumed death at the age of 28 when he disappeared in Cambodia, most likely captured and subsequently killed by the Khmer Rouge. [LAWRENCE OF ARABIA]: An original costume Arab Keffiyeh headdress worn by film extra Phillip Dubisson, in his role as a bodyguard to Ali Ibn El Kharish (portrayed by Omar Sharif), in the 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia starring Peter O'Toole and directed by David Lean. The Keffiyeh comprising a traditional red and white cotton scarf accompanied by two Agals, one of a traditional double plain black cord and tassels, and the other of a more colourful design featuring golden, green, orange, white and black ribbons bound in five sections joined with loose blue thread. Together with an album containing twelve unsigned 8 x 10 photographs and slightly smaller etc., the different images showing Dubisson on the set of Lawrence of Arabia, accompanied by Peter O'Toole, Omar Sharif, Anthony Quinn etc., also including an original telegram (received copy) sent by Dubisson to his fiancee from Amman, Jordan, in September 1961, wishing her a happy 21st birthday, and an A.L.S., Phillip, to the verso of a colour picture postcard showing the filming of Lawrence of Arabia, Amman, 20th July 1961, also to his fiancee, stating that he is looking forward to August and remarking that he has no work that day. A black Tuxedo vest with decorative vertical white stitching to the front and with two pockets and five buttons, previously owned by John Travolta and worn by him to the 67th Academy Awards ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, on 27th March 1995. Professionally mounted and matted in white and black alongside a certificate of authenticity signed by both Travolta and the Director of JTP Films Inc., Susan Such, one page, 4to, n.p., 1st July 1999, on Travolta's headed notepaper as President of JTP Films, confirming that he previously owned and wore the vest. Also included in the mount is a 6.5 x 4.5 photograph of Travolta wearing the vest whilst seated in a half length pose at a restaurant table alongside three ladies. Framed and glazed in a plain black modern frame to an overall size of 45 x 37. EX £200 - 300
