| 1948 DAVID BROWN VTK1 'Thresherman' 4cylinder petrol/paraffin TRACTOR Reg. No. EVN 202 Engine No. 3358 ID. 628 The David Brown 'Thresherman', more properly known as the VTK1 threshing tractor, is a rare machine as just 185 were built. This extremely original example, possibly one of the best unrestored and original examples in preservation, has been in the ownership of one family from new. The tractor was supplied new to Wilf Bielby, a threshing contractor at Cold Kirby in Thirsk. He bought it from the local David Brown agents, Russells of Kirkbymoorside. Apparently, Wilf had served in the RAF during the Second World War and was highly impressed by the wartime Air Ministry David Brown aircraft tractors. After being demobbed, he wasted no time in replacing his ageing Fowler steam engine (sold for scrap for £10!) with the latest DB VTK1 tractor to drive his Foster threshing drum. As well as being used for threshing, the tractor was also called upon to haul heavily-laden lorries up Sutton Bank, which is 1 in 4 in places. No registration documents have been located but it is hoped something may be available for saleday. |

| v 1924 AVANCE 30hp 2cylinder diesel TRACTOR Engine No. 145601 A rare tractor in the world today this Swedish made Avance is fitted with a two cylinder two stroke diesel engine producing 30hp. The origins of these Swedish tractors goes back to 1901 and J V Svensen who was one of the leading mechanical engineers in the country at the time. He had established a line of successful paraffin stoves, amongst other things, and created a growing export market for his lines. He went on to build reliable crude oil two-stroke engines under the Avance name to the Meitz - Weiss patent, which had many applications on water and land. He was a very big player in those early days, even compared to his big rivals Bollinder and Munktell, who were later to join together. In 1999 this tractor took part in the very first all makes Guinness World Record for the most tractors working in one field together, which it successfully completed. It is likely that this is one of, if not, the first Avance tractor to be offered by auction and presents a superb chance to add a rare tractor to your collection. |

This tractor has been in the same ownership for the last 20 years and was cosmetically restored in 2012 in honour of the owners late father who used this machine on their turf farm. | v 1994 CASE IH 4220 XL 4cylinder diesel TRACTOR Serial No. JJE0900016 This tractor is showing a genuine 28 hours from new and is believed to be a pre-production model from the Wheatley Hall Road factory at Doncaster. It was the 16th 4200 series Case IH manufactured and it was common for the first 20 units to be used for test and homologation work by the factories engineering department. This is also supported by the fitment of a see through fuel tank. Fitted with 16.9x34 rear and 12.4x24 front Kleber radial wheels and tyres. In immaculate condition with bright paintwork, superb cab and interior, with the only blemish being a missing front radiator grille. |

| 1953 FIELD MARSHALL Series IIIa single cylinder diesel TRACTOR Reg. No. SSY 825 Serial No. 15352 The Field Marshall Series IIIa was the final incarnation of Gainsborough's single-cylinder diesel tractor. Unveiled in September 1952, the IIIa featured a number of small improvements to enhance engine performance. A pressurised cooling system was introduced to allow the tractor to warm up quicker, and the price rose to £845. The Field Marshall Series IIIa could be fitted with a heavy-duty winch, which was supplied with 75yd of steel cable and had an 11,000lb pull. Other options included a cab, a sprung drawbar, electric lighting and an electric starting system. In July 1953, the colour of the tractor was changed to 'Chrome Orange' to bring it inline with the Fowler products. The equivalent crawler version was known as the Fowler VFA. It remained in production until 1957 when Marshall's single-cylinder ambitions came to an end. Just over 2,000 units were built from 1952-56. This example would be described as an earlier restoration and is fitted with rear pto, swinging drawbar and sits on 16.9-30 rear Firestones and 7.50-16 front wheels and tyres and has its V5C available. |

No. USU 731 Serial No. 15254 Purchased in 1990 in an original state USU 731 then underwent a significant restoration project by the now deceased owner, which was completed in February 2009. With some considerable attention to detail the restoration was chronicled in a series of images which are available for inspection and a comprehensive list of works carried out to include; rebuilt king pins, bushes, oils seals and bearings, skimmed head valve, rebored cylinder, machined new piston, renewed clutch brake pads, fitted new 16.9-30 rear and 7.50-18 front tyres, shot blasted and repainted in Brunswick Green. | 1930s RUMELY Advance 6A 6cylinder petrol TRACTOR Rumely was created in 1853 in La Porte, Indiana by Meinrad Rumely. The firm started by manufacturing threshers and later moved onto steam engines. The first internal combustion tractor manufactured was the Oil Pull, launched in 1910 and developed by Dr. Edward Rumely. 801 Advance 6a's are believed to have been built and fitted with a Waukesha 6.6litre petrol engine with 6 forward and 2 reverse gears. This example has been barn stored for many years and is fitted with a new fuel tank, a full set of cleats for the rear wheel are available and the tractor has been running. | INTERNATIONAL 8-16 Junior 4cylinder petrol/paraffin TRACTOR The 8-16 Junior when introduced in 1918 was modelled on International's trucks of the day with a sloping bonnet and the radiator behind the engine. Research shows that 33,138 Juniors were manufactured between a period of 1918-1922 and were fitted with 3 forward and 1 reverse gears, a 2 plow rating and cost £310 when new in 1921. This tractor looks to be a good candidate for a restoration project with much of its original tinwork still attached. |
