London Philatelic Society. 1894 (Oct 15) Registered cover to "England, London W.C, Effingham House, Arundel Street, Strand, to the Philatelic Society", reverse with three 10k stamps each tied by violet datestamp of Borzhom, Tiflis (unlisted by Peter Ashford in his book on Georgia postal history), red wax seal with a crown over "A.M". The enclosed letter from Borjom asks for the London Philatelist for His Imperial Highness the Grand Duke Alexis Mihailowitch to be posted to "France, Alpes Maritimes, Cannes, Villa Wenden, Grand Duc Alexis Mihailowitch de Russie" during the winter months. The Grand Duke joined the Philatelic Society of London in 1894 but died of TB in 1895 aged 19. A unique cover and letter. £100-120
