1954 Foden OG4/6 Recovery Truck Reg. No. 773 BRE Chassis No. 36368 Show vehicle categories include Concourse, Restored and Original, 773 BRE falls well beyond any of these and ‘Time Warp' would be the most appropriate. A quick trawl of the internet will reveal the amount of times this Foden has been photographed at shows and rallies due to its wonderful original ‘working clothes' patina. It is related that the OG4/6 was originally sold to a fruit and veg' merchant but just 3 months later it was with Samuel Archibald Satterthwaite, proprietor of the well known Streetly Garage near Sutton Coldfield. The vehicle had its chassis shortened to accommodate the deck mounted crane for recovery duties and an oversize flywheel to enable easier starting via the hand crank which helped preserve the batteries. With the exception of new Keruing hardwood decking it remains today much as it was the day it finished work, a small degree of preservation to the original wooden cab roof has been carried out. The vendor states that the Gardner 4LK engine is a first time starter and is a major attraction at shows and rallies, offered for sale with current V5C, original logbook and various correspondence, positively unique. Estimate £18,000 - £20,000

1949 ERF 56TS 6 wheel drop side body fitted with Gardner 5LW diesel engine Reg. No. JAC 586 Chassis No. 5127 Engine No. 79919 This very rare ERF is believed to be the only restored "V LINE" ERF lorry in existence. It was supplied new by PARR'S of Leicester to L.J. Lewis (transport) Ltd of Narborough Leics. on 31st August 1949. It is unclear who operated the vehicle, and it may well have been sub-contracted to NT Motors, also of Narborough. Following the owner's death, all the vehicles were sold by auction. Whether or not it remained in general haulage is unknown, but in the early part of the 1970s it did pass to a "C" Licensee named R.W. Hewitt, after which it may have passed into showland service. The present owner purchased the vehicle from a real Showman in 1992 as a four wheel box van, the second steer axle having been removed and scrapped. A correct replacement axle was found with much difficulty and a full restoration of the vehicle including a new cab by B & C Vintage of Middlewich was completed by 2003. The drop side body was restored using most of the original specification. This vehicle has only done a few road runs over the years. The last appearance was at Kelsall two years ago - so has certainly not been over exposed. This excellent example is finished in Middle Brunswick Green and has recently been fitted with two new 6 volt batteries Estimate £12,000 - £15,000
