J.A.P. 680 GTO OHV V twin engine. 71 x 88 bore and stroke. This exceedingly desirable engine was purchased from an ex Brough Superior Club member who was looking to create a spare for his Black Alpine machine and, over a long period of time, had accumulated many of the major parts including a pair of unused crankcases. In the current skilled engineer owners hands the engine has been completed and has new crankpin and mainshaft, new big end roller bearings, new main bearings and new little end bush. The cylinders have been rebored and are fitted with modified Triumph Thunderbird +0.010" pistons (Part No. 703610) which give a manageable compression ratio and suitable piston to valve clearance. The cylinder head has new valve seats, valves, springs and guides and nourishment is provided via the twin float bowls and Amal Type 27 carburettor. Electrical life comes via the fully refurbished magneto, the work was carried out by Armoto and comes with a 3 year guarantee, lubrication is supplied by the Pilgrim pump unit. This is a fully operational engine that has been put together with not only a high degree of mechanical competence but with an eye for sympathetic period detail such as the nickel plated push rod tubes and exhaust nuts, a rare opportunity indeed. A video of it running on a test bed is available on Youtube (www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPr_u8DdgFM) Estimate £14,000 - £16,000

1929 1210cc J.A.P. V twin engine No. DTZ/S 40745/4 This 60 degree air cooled V twin has been converted from its original side valve guise and is fitted with JTOR racing OHV cylinders and barrels, it has also benefitted from a rebuilt crank assembly. The vendor carried out perhaps half a dozen of these conversions for various European racing machines both Morgans & motorcycles, the flange cast on the barrels allowing a number of crank case types to be utilised. This engine was produced for a competition special but never used. A very fast long stroke engine Estimate £10,000 - £12,000
