  Nepal. 1921 (Dec 16) Cover with printed heading "Anglo-Indian & Domiciled European Association", franked India ¼a and 9p surcharges each with the Prince of Wales Camp c.d.s. The royal party was in Nepal Dec. 14th - 21st; however Indian stamps were not valid in Nepal so most mail was held over for cancelling until the royal party reached Patna on Dec. 22nd (see next lot). A scarce cover, with Dec. 20th Bombay backstamp. £150-200

  1921-22 Letters (24), ephemera (5) and photos (2) from Charles Warren, who accompanied the Prince on the entire tour, sent to his mother and sister in England. The letters written from H.M.S "Renown" en route to India (3), India (10), Burma (2), H.M.S "Renown" en route to Japan (3), Japan (4) or H.M.S "Renown" en route back to England (2) with good content on the royal tour and the places visited and seen, many on headed notepaper of the Prince of Wales, Sultan of Rajputana, Imperial Palace in Tokyo, etc. Also two photos of the six ladies on the tour taken on H.M.S "Renown", music programme from H.M.S "Renown" whilst at Gwalior, menu card from Queen's House in Colombo named to Robert Trefusis, programme of an exhibition of Judo and Kendo at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, form of service for unveiling the allied war memorial in Yokohama, and a cinema programme on H.M.S "Renown" at Trincomalee.   Nepal. 1921 (Dec 14) Two page letter from Charles Warren on superb headed notepaper "NEPAL / THE PRINCE OF WALES' CAMP" with crossed kukris. The letter includes "we have just arrived here, half a mile over the Nepal border. We came the mile from Bhikna Thoree station on elephants ..... ordinarily whites are not allowed into Nepal ..... Yesterday we were at Benares, "the holy city", .... there was a very complete "hartal" on (boycott of the Prince) and absolutely all the bazaars were closed. The Gandhi cap too was everywhere". £150-200

Hans Bertram Germany to Australia flight, large unaddressed printed flight cover with "BERTRAM ATLANTIS / EXPEDITION" flight cachet, bearing stamps of all countries visited en route, comprising Germany (Berlin), Switzerland (Lugano), Italy (Venice), Greece (Athens), Syria (Alexandrette), Iraq (Baghdad), Persia (Bushire), India (Bombay), Ceylon (Colombo), Siam (Bangkok), Straits Settlements (Singapore), Netherlands Indies (Batavia) and Australia (Wyndham and Sydney). The flight left Darwin on May 19th but was blown off course and came down near Wyndham; they were not found until July 4th. Fine and scarce, 40 covers flown from Germany to Australia.
