| THE BALDWIN FAMILY COLLECTION | Led by the late Vic Baldwin, and ably accompanied by his wife, Carol, and children Anthony and Sara, the Baldwin Family actively collected in person autographs during the late 1970s and 1980s.
Indeed, the pursuit of their favourite celebrities, sportsmen and film stars became a passionate hobby for the family who would spend their weekends in London at various television studios, theatres and other venues patiently waiting to obtain signatures.
The vast majority of these signatures were obtained on large white cards, often resulting in excellent, large examples of signatures, and IAA are pleased to be able to offer the collection in its entirety in the following lots.|

LANGTRY LILLIE: (1853-1929) British Actress, mistress of King Edward VII. A.L.S., Lillie de Bathe, Mrs Langtry, two pages, 4to, Allsop Place, Regents Park, n.d. ('Sunday' c.1917/18), to Mr. Watson. Langtry asks if her correspondent would be kind enough to report in his column 'that I am leaving next Sat. for the States with my compy. including Mr. Lionel Atwill, Mr. Martyn Sands & Phillis (sic) Relph to play Mrs Thompson adapted by Sydney Grundy from Maxwell's novel of the same name' and concludes by expressing her appreciation. A letter of interesting content and featuring a scarce example of Langtry's signature in two forms. Some very light, minor creasing, otherwise VG £150 - 200

Lionel Atwill (1885-1946) English Actor who was a star of Broadway theatre in 1918 before making his screen debut in 1919. Atwill's first wife, from 1913-19, was actress Phyllis Ralph (b.1888).
