The Chin Hills District

After the Japanese occupied Rangoon in March 1942, an emergency mail service was organised by Major A.G. McCall, District Commissioner, Lushai Hills at Aijal. The postal runners made an eight day journey from Haka, Tiddim and Fort White via Falam, to Aijal in Assam and thence to India. By July stamps overprinted "service" had become exhausted and ordinary stamps overprinted "OHMS" by typewriter were approved.
