Indicator Map of London, 1888 ( actually July 16th. 1888 ). Linen-backed, engraved, hand-coloured, folding map of London housed within the original 8vo blue cloth binder with gilt titling. The map measures 76cm x 52cm. The binder also contains a small booklet with a list of streets in alphabetical order together with a list of the 'Public Buildings, Theatres, and Places of Amusements' - this includes Bazaars, Hotels and Railway Stations. The map also indicates Tramways ( by colour ) and is divided into quarter mile squares; also still attached ( by a brass pin ) is the original linen-backed 'measuring' tape to facilitate calculation of distances. Some moderate wear to the extremities of the binder but complete and bright. Map is bright and clean with some minor wear to the folding points with very slight loss. Estimate £40 - £60
