1931 (Dec 2) Cover from Singapore to London franked 36c for air mail by KLM from Alor Star to Amsterdam, delayed at Alor Star due to the crash of KLM plane near Bangkok, the mail subsequently carried by the rescue plane "Southern Star" piloted by C. Kingsford Smith. Also three Australia to England first flight covers recovered from the KLM crash and carried by "Southern Star". Fine, the 56c rate only lasted for one month in December 1931.
