H.T, probably Air Marshal Sir Hugh Trenchard. Gold marks rubbed. Also with a Brigg riding crop with a silver collar, inscribed Air Marshal Sir Hugh Trenchard from E.D, July 1920, a Swaine & Adeney riding crop with inscribed silver collar (H,M.T for Hugh Montague Trenchard), and various other whips etc. Hugh Trenchard, 1st Viscount Trenchard GCB OM GCVO DSO (1873-1956) was the commander of the Royal Flying Corps in France from 1915, and was instrumental in establishing the Royal Air Force. £100-200 (+ 30% BP*)

Also with a silver card case with Sir Cuthbert's initials and business cards inside. With a label for Van Ingen and Van Ingen of Mysore. 290cms long
*Major General Sir Cuthbert Sprawson (1877-1956) held various high administrative and University appointments in India at a time which was important to the Medical profession. He was Director-General of the Indian Medical Service from 1933-37, and President of the Medical Council from 1934-37. His name will always be associated with the King George's Medical Council at Lucknow University, where he was professor of Medicine for many years. His favourite recreation in India was big-game shooting, and was a fine rifle shot. He seems to have done much of his hunting from 1932-35, and this appears to be a typical 1930's mount. As this is pre 1947 skin it can be sold without restriction. £1000-1500 (+ 30% BP*)
