Individually and boldly signed by twenty two of them, including some of the best remembered players such as Sepp Maier, Uwe Seeler, Franz Beckenbauer, Karl-Heinz Schnellinger, Berti Vogts, Wolfgang Overath, Gerd Muller, Jurgen Grabowski, etc.. Post-stamped from Mexico in 1970, and bearing to the colour front an image of the residence of the German team in Comanjilla, Leon, in Mexico. The semi-final of the 1970 Fifa World Cup between Italy and West Germany is known as “The game of the Century”. An exceptional signed 30.5 x 17,5 print by Ayrton Senna, the image showing the Brazilian World Champion driving his McLaren F1. Signed in bold blue ink to the clear upper part of the image. The present 1988 McLaren print is a limited edition (numbered 11 of 75). The edition of prints was produced by Peter Radcliffe, and the signing took place at Senna’s apartment in Monaco in 1989. Bearing to the lower matted border a small plate saying “1988 F1 World Champion - Ayrton Senna (BR) - McLaren-Honda - Limited Edition no 11/75”. Framed, matted in beige and glazed to an overall size of 37 x 23.5. Very few small molding spots, easily removable when unframing. About VG £2000 - 3000 €2300 - 3400

The 40 colour pages attractively illustrated book contains images, text and lyrics related to Schubert’s Ave Maria, the musical composition which was selected as a concluding number in the first Walt Disney Concert Feature, Fantasia, with gilt musical quotes. Signed in bold blue fountain pen ink, a large and good example, to the front free endpaper, alongside the title page. A very attractive T.L.S., Abel Gance, one page, 4to, Paris, 4th July 1928, on his Films Abel Gance printed stationery, to Pierre Flouquet, in French. The letter bears a very large and colourful heading, showing Napoleon on his white horse, pointing with his hand at his fleet, with the printed texts “The travels and feats of the great General Buonaparte in various countries” at the head, and “Films Abel Gance, 2 Rue Richelieu” at the base, with a small ink stamp beneath indicating the new address “27, rue Kleber”. Gance states in part ‘I find accidentally, beneath a stack of binders, this beautiful publication by Paul Werrie about your work, with the delicate inscription which you have dedicated to me..’ Matted in dark grey, attractively framed in gilt wood and glazed to an overall of 13 x 16.
