  A 17th Century Needlework Band Sampler, by Ann Borrett, Dated 1646, worked in green, red, cream, blue and yellow bands of various floral and geometric designs, cut down, in later frame, 22.5cm by 17.5cm £300 - 500

  Decorative Early 20th Century Sampler, designed in five areas separated by drawn thread work, the samples include the alphabet, stitching styles, embroidery, around a central image of a monkey and other animals around a tree, within an oval cartouche, worked on linen, with a natural coloured silk and cotton threads, signed Doris Moxon and dated 1915, 38cm square, mounted not framed. Another Similar of a Vase of Flowers within a decorative border, signed DH 1923, 36cm by 39cm (2)Provenance: Doris Clare Moxon was born in the Beverley area on December 31st 1887. The family later moved to Whitby and lived at Carr Hall, Briggswath, which later became the middle school of the Order of the Holy Paraclete. Doris studied at the Royal College of Art, and later joined the community of the Order of the Holy Paraclete in July 1928, dropping the name Doris she now became known as Sr Clare in community.The DH is possibly Sister Dorothy Hirst, she was a teacher in Ghana for many years. £100 - 150

Academy Costumes, London Academy Costumes is a London based costumiers making and renting costume for an array of different areas of the entertainment industry. The business owner, Adrian, had been working at the National Theatre for 10 years before deciding to branch out and start his own business in 1984. Beginning predominantly with making costume for theatre productions, Academy soon started to provide rentals including a fantastic mix of original costume and good quality reproduction items.Over thirty years later Academy boasts an extraordinary number of films, productions and artists they have provided costume for including Back To The Future, Braveheart, Harry Potter, Les Miserables, Beyonce (music video)to mention but a few!
