Pilot to the Royal Family, Distinguished Flying Cross dated 1958, Air Force Cross, dated 1954, Defence medal, War medal and General Service medal with Malaya clasp, General Service medal named to (FLT LT J.H. LIVERSIDGE R.A.F.) together with a collection of objects from his career to include newspaper cuttings, an invitation to Buckingham palace 1963, letter from Lord Mountbatten thanking him for a pleasant flight to Henlow and then to Stansted Park 1963. Another letter from Lt Gen Sir Edric M Bastyan KBECB of Hong Kong 1957. Pilots wrist compass, The Queen's Flight silver salver, a silver cigarette box inscribed "Presented to Flt Lt J.H. LIVERSIDGE A.F.C. by No 194 Squadron R.A.F. Malaya April 1958, a framed photograph of the Royals leaving the helicopter with Flt Lt Liversidge seated in the cockpit, further photographs, an instrument set, a signed photograph of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip 1968, a silver monogrammed cigarette case. A presentation chromed Bristol Sycamore engraved "Flight Lieutenant J.H. Liversidge D.F.C. A.F.C. Royal Air Force, pewter presentation mugs, collar studs and a porcelain mug. Later Squadron Leader J.H. Liversidge The Queens Flight. On the 7th December Whirlwind XR487 was en route to Yeovil, where a meeting was to be held to discuss the VVIP Wessex, when the main rotor-shaft snapped and the helicopter crashed at Brightwalton Berks. The accident resulted in the deaths of the crew, Squadron Leader J H Liversidge DFC, AFC and Flight Lieutenant R Fisher, and the passengers, Air Commodore J H L Blount DFC, the captain of the Queens's Flight, and Squadron Leader M W Hermon, the Flight's Engineering Officer. NOTE Supplement to London Gazette page 1587 Flying Officer J H Liversidge 150493 was on short service commission in the RAF 1951. Flt lt J H Liversidge was awarded the AFC in 1954 in RAF Little Rissington central Flying School, DFC possibly awarded when with the Queens Flight, 194 Squadron Malaya. A news clipping announces his marriage to Mona Ward in Mexborough, the RAF award to Fl Lt Jack H Liversidge of the AFC whilst stationed at Cirencester, the youngest son of Mr & Mrs G Liversidge, he had been a former pupil at Rotherham Technical College and had been a draughtsman at Baker & Bessemer's Kilnhurst steel works before he joined the RAF in WW2, he rejoined the steelworks for four years before rejoining the RAF.
