(1742-1821) Portrait of a lady wearing white dress, her grey hair plaited in a wreath, sky background, on ivory 6 x 5 cms in 19th century frame bordered with brilliants. An inscription on a label c.1900 on reverse gives the identity of the sitter as Susan Countess of Guilford*. The miniature has been seen and authenticated as being the work of Cosway by Dr. Stephen Lloyd. £1000-2000 (+ 26.4% BP*)
